DNA Script is a leading company in manufacturing de novo synthetic nucleic acids using an enzymatic technology. The company aims at accelerating innovation in life science and technology through quick, decentralized solutions for laboratory work in life science and genomics. DNA Script's approach leverages nature's billions of years of evolution in synthesizing DNA to set a new standard for how nucleic acids are made and accelerate the adoption of synthetic biology across diverse disciplines such as biopharma, sustainable chemistry and data storage.

To date, DNA Script has raised over 58 M€ of financing, mostly through equity funding brought by prestigious players such as Illumina Ventures, LSP, Merck Ventures, Sofinnova Partners, BPIFrance, Kurma Partners and Idinvest. The company partners with leading institutions, in particular Institut Pasteur.

The company today has operations in France with a team of 35 and recently opened a US subsidiary. The first commercial product launch is planned within the next couple of years.

We are looking for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:

- Review and adjust the 5Y/10Y financial models underlying the company's business plan
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
- Develop financial and tax strategies
- Set up and track the capital request, budgeting processes and expenses vs budget monitoring
- Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction

- Participate in key decisions
- Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
- Manage all accounting or finance functions whether internal or outsourced
- Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
- Implement operational best practices
- Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
- Track and manage budget allocation relative to subsidized projects and CIR (crédit d'impôt recherche), and oversee financial reporting for said projects

Financial Information
- Oversee the issuance of financial information
- Report financial results to executive management and/or the board of the company

Risk Management
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
- Arrange for debt financing and equity financing
- Participate in fundraising activities
- Participate in grant applications

- Fluent English speaker, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven work experience as Finance officer or auditor
- 3 to 5 years as an auditor in one of the Big Four would be seen as a strong advantage
- Excellent financial modelling skills as well as corporate finance and corporate law knowledge
- Strong leadership, organizational skills
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
- CPA or equivalent is a strong advantage
